tasteally

Most food apps give you numbers. We give you an answer.

Cooking at home: a pan of pasta in tomato sauce with tomatoes, peppers and basil on a worktop

Calorie counting asks a lot: look up the food, guess the portion, do the subtraction, then decide what it means. Most people give up somewhere around step three.

Tasteally starts from the question people actually have — can I eat this? — and works backwards. Scan it, snap it, search it or ask about it, and you get a plain answer that takes your day into account.

What we won’t do

  • Call food good, bad, naughty or a cheat.
  • Reward you for eating less and less, or rank friends by who ate least.
  • Set targets below safe minimums, or set weight-loss targets for under-18s.
  • Make up nutrition numbers. If we don’t know, we say so.
  • Sell your personal data or fill the app with ad trackers.

Who we are
